BDS stands for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions. It is a peaceful global movement that calls on Israel to respect international law and recognize the rights of Palestinians.
Israel can maintain its oppression thanks to support from governments, companies, and institutions worldwide. By exerting pressure together, we force change.
Everyone can do something
BDS is not complicated. You don’t have to be an activist, start an organization, or memorize a long list of products.
The idea is actually simple: by exerting pressure together on a limited number of companies and institutions directly involved in the occupation, we can truly force change.
Every step, no matter how small, counts.
Getting involved is simple. You can start with one concrete action:
- Do not buy products from companies that actively support the occupation.
- Support a local campaign or petition.
- Tell others why you are doing this.
- Share an action online or help organize an event. Why we focus on a limited number of targets
BDS deliberately focuses on a limited number of clear targets. These are companies, brands, or institutions that demonstrably cooperate in violations of Palestinian rights.
By pooling our energy, we can exert real pressure. And it works: when one major brand gives in, it prompts others to do the same.
Targeted BDS campaigns have already achieved success worldwide. Companies like Veolia and Orange completely withdrew from Israeli projects. Pension funds decided to withdraw their investments from companies that profit from the occupation. Famous artists have canceled performances in Israel.
Every victory shows: collective pressure works. It changes policy, it shifts public opinion, and it makes people aware of their own influence.
The situation in Palestine is urgent.
The occupation has lasted for decades, and every day people suffer from injustice, violence, apartheid, and now also genocide. Remaining silent only helps maintain the status quo.
BDS is a peaceful, effective way to counter this. You don’t have to do everything at once; just start somewhere. Support a campaign, talk about it, share information. Every step counts, and together we can build pressure that cannot be ignored.
BDS is not complicated. It is choosing justice together. And it works.
